The Blokland family’s health philosophy goes from strength to strength as daughters Poppy and Harriett follow in their fathers’ footsteps and join the Practice to build a family team of dedicated Chiropractors.
Mark Blokland
Chiropractor
Mark started his Chiropractic journey 30 years ago in Cirencester Chiropractic Clinic. He then set up his own clinic (Ridgeway Health and Wellness) which he still runs in Wroughton, Swindon and which comprises a team of Chiropractors and includes a Gymnasium for patients. 27 years on and Ridgeway Health and Wellness is one of the largest practices of its kind south of Swindon.
The new venture, Blokland Health, has been developed in conjunction with his two daughters, Poppy and Harriett, in order to offer a more personalised family approach to Chiropractic wellness care.
In Mark’s words: “I am excited about this new Clinic and am proud to be working with my two daughters. Together we make a great team and will benefit from the different qualities that each of us has.”
Marks’ hobbies include flying aeroplanes and helicopters and has taken part in Iron Man Competitions both at home and internationally. Mark has a passion for the wellbeing of the body as a whole and practices intermittent fasting, ketogenic lifestyle, the benefits of ice baths and saunas.
Mark is well aware of the advantages of chiropractic care for infants and both Poppy and Harriett have benefitted from his care since birth.
Poppy Blokland
Chiropractic Associate
Poppy has a particular interest in paediatric chiropractic care having experienced the positive impact it has for both the child and the parents.
In Poppy’s words: “I am passionate about the benefit of chiropractic care for everyone and helping people find the root cause for their pain and discomfort. As well as improving the overall functioning of the nervous system”.
Harriett Blokland
Chiropractic Assistant
Harriet is in her second year as a Chiropractic student at McTimoney College of Chiropractic Care. She is currently combining university with working as a Chiropractic Assistant at Ridgeway Health and Wellness in the family’s Wroughton Practice. She has gained extra-curricular experience by getting involved in building Blokland Health at Sevenhampton and is really look forward to starting her career with them.
Harriett has a love of all animals and owns a horse, Diego, and a Dachshund, Milo.
In Harriett’s words: “I know a lot can be done to help animals by giving them chiropractic care. Right now I am concentrating on my studies toward qualifying as a Chiropractor and joining my father and sister at Blokland Health, but I won’t rule out the possibility of practising on animals one day.”
